International School of Arizona (ISA), located in North Scottsdale, is a private, nonprofit independent school with a 27+ year history in Arizona. ISA has evolved and currently has over 375 students enrolled.

ISA, a dual immersion school, offers French and Spanish language immersion programs that begin at 18 months and continue through 8th grade. The school is proud of the many accomplishments and achievements earned throughout the years. For the second consecutive year (2024 and 2023), ISA was voted #1 Best Private School and Pre School in Scottsdale, and best mascot, the Palomino.  These accolades are a testament to both educational quality and spirited community culture.

New Accreditations & Global Recognition for the International School of Arizona

ISA achieved accreditation from the International Spanish Academy, officially recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education. This marks a significant enhancement to its Spanish immersion track, alongside ongoing affiliations with Cognia, the French Ministry of Education, and Instituto Cervantes.

Robotics State Recognition & Philanthropy A highlight from the student body: ISA’s V5 Robotics Team—from grades 7 and 8—secured 7th place statewide in Arizona. Palomino Parliament—ISA’s student government—raised $741 to support a French school impacted by Southern California wildfires, showcasing the school’s commitment to global citizenship.

Building on Success at the International School of Arizona

What’s ahead for the future is steady enrollment growth. ISA has increased from 14 students in 1998 to nearly 380 students in 2025 and plans to continue this growth trend by leveraging its award-winning digital presence.

Multilingual Curriculum Expansion at the International School of Arizona

ISA offers a robust immersion model starting at 18 months through Grade 8. By end of 3rd grade, students are proficient in English and either French or Spanish; by 4th grade, a third language is introduced, enabling trilingual fluency by 8th grade. Enhanced Accreditations

The new International Spanish Academy accreditation—formally celebrated in November 2024—further strengthens ISA’s dual-language credentials, reinforcing its reputation for bilingual excellence.

Emphasis on the “Portrait of a Graduate,” ISA continues to cultivate its defining graduate traits—Curious Problem Solver, Compassionate Communicator, Inspirational Leader, Advocate, Balanced Achiever, and Global Citizen—through advisory programs, student-led initiatives, and community-building events.

In Summary the International School of Arizona continues to shine academically, culturally, and technologically:

  • Leading the region as the #1 private and preschool for the second straight year.
  • Expanding globally with deeper language accreditations and immersive curriculum.
  • Fostering growth in enrollment, faculty, and community engagement.
  • Empowering students through leadership, robotics, philanthropy, and a globally minded education model.
